The design is in square Kufic script, which is a style of Arabic calligraphy developed in the 10th century.

Material : Mixture of modeling paste (pumice) (modeling paste + coarse sand) and acrylic paint applied on cotton paper.

Meaning :

 "And We have created you in pairs (male and female)."

We refer to Allah. In Arabic, the plural form is used to show greatness.
